XO Chateau de Fontpinot 100th Anniversary Cognac Frapin
Availability: from April 20th 2023
1923 - 2023: Cognac Frapin celebrates the centenary of Fontpinot Cognac and 100 years of timeless tasting.
Created by Pierre Frapin 100 years ago, Fontpinot cognac has always delighted demanding epicureans. Against the current of passions with programmed obsolescence, it roots the pleasure of tasting in a time that, at Frapin, far from stopping, continues its work serenely.
To celebrate the centenary, Cognac Frapin is publishing a limited edition anniversary packaging. Inspired by the original, the label brings up to date the symbols of ownership and the colors popular during the Roaring Twenties. The bottle is presented in a rough wooden coret inspired by the straw-lined crates used at the time.
In Cognac, the "château" appellation is distinguished by its rarity. In order to use it, all the operations leading from the vine to the bottling must be carried out on the estate. In Grande Champagne, Cognac Frapin is the only company to have such a heritage: a 240 hectare vineyard in one piece, 100% Premier Cru, around an 18th century castle and its outbuildings. Harvesting, vinification, distillation, aging and packaging are all mastered on the property.
Thus, since 1923, the blending of very old reserves of the Château renews an exceptional cognac by its title, its origins and the unalterable emotion that its tasting brings.
Unanimously celebrated, the XO Château Fontpinot cognac is collecting international awards:
• Cognac Masters - Cognac de l’année 2022 (UK).
• International Spirits Challenge - Médaille d’or 2021 (UK).
• ISW - Cognac de l’année 2021 (DE).
• IWSC - Médaille d’or - 98/100 2020 (UK).
• Ultimate Spirits Challenge - 95/100 2019 (US).
• Cognac Masters - Meilleur XO 2019 (UK).

• International Spirits Challenge - Meilleur XO 2018 (UK).
Description
Color: Silky and warm, the robe is coppery, lit with golden highlights. A deep and sensual color that opens the tasting.
Nose : A subtle bouquet unfolds to the point of balance. An evanescent oral note gives way to a basket of autumn fruits on a blond, patinated wood.
Taste : A complex bouquet, of a rare finesse, enchants the palate. Notes of candied fruit, dried apricot, almond and hazelnut unfold. As the tasting progresses, the aromas melt away, timeless and warm, soon supported by the smoky note of rancio, characteristic of very old cognacs.
Ultimate generosity, signature of the house, an exceptional length in mouth prolongs the pleasure.
