Aquavit Aged by Bache Gabrielsen

Creating an aged Aquavit for the DistillationS range came naturally as a tribute to our Scandinavian roots.

We have collaborated with Audemus Spirits, who share the same values of creativity and passion with Bache-Gabrielsen, and specialise in creating innovative and expressive products. Our cellar master used his years of expertise to accompany the creation of this spirit following its production from the distillations, gentle resting, blending and its final ageing.

This aquavit is a blend of two spirits; the first, boldly rich in caraway and fennel, is distilled in a traditional alembic. The second, with brightly floral notes of angelica, is distilled under vacuum. The aged aquavit DistillationS by Bache-Gabrielsen takes its light brown colour from its ageing in oak cask which previously contained cognac Bache-Gabrielsen.

Those “T5 casks” are carefully selected for their high quality level. T5 is made of oak from the forest of Tronçais, producing very fine-grain wood which is stringently selected and naturally seasoned in the open air for five years. Each T5 is made and personally signed by a master cooper Meilleur Ouvrier de France or Compagnon du Devoir, duly trained, in a dedicated workshop. Aquavit matured in T5 reveals greater length and depth.

After a minimum of 6 months ageing, the aquavit gets its distinctive flavour from the wood impregnated with cognac, which offers roundness and finesse. Enjoy our Aquavit pure or in cocktails.
